40 second half points. That’s something you see in a video game, but Jimmy Butler did it, and did it on the road. That is always tough. He made 14-19 shots in the second half which is ridiculous. He was scoring in every way possible for the Bulls, and I’ll tell you this, it was awesome to watch! The Bulls eventually won the game in a thriller and they owe most of the credit to Jimmy’s wondrous performance. I don’t remember the last time I saw something like that.
Here is an interesting stat that really jumps out to me, he only took THREE shots from behind the arc. In a league that depends far too much on the long range bombs, Butler got his buckets like a certain guy who used to play for the Bulls did. He drove to the basket, pulled up for jumpers off the pick and roll, and even posted up for fadeaway turnaround jumpers. What also surprised me is that Toronto refused to double him. When a guy gets hot, GET THE BALL OUT OF HIS HANDS. But they didn’t and Jimmy burned them. Absolutely majesterial game and hope to see more of them in the future.
Here are the highlights, enjoy!
