Preview: Heat vs. Spurs (March 23, 2016)

The Miami Heat take the floor in San Antonio tonight in a battle with the Spurs!

San Antonio is undefeated at home this year, and looks to continue their success against a Heat team who have been much better on the road as of late. Here are my 3 keys.

  1. Watch for Leonard and Aldridge:  The Spurs have some great perimeter defenders, but none better than Kawhi Leonard. The Heat need to make sure they know where he is at all times on defense and then stop the ball when he leads the San Antonio break. He is the catalyst for them along with Aldridge, who is playing beautifully in Pop’s offense.
  2. Attack the point guards: Tony Parker and Patty Mills are not the best defenders, so Dragic needs to make sure he is in attack mode in order to neutralize them. The Spurs don’t have a ton of shot-blockers, so the paint should be fairly open for driving lanes.
  3. Play tough defense: Miami can play fast, but Pop’s teams have the ability to get hot and put the points up in bunches. The Heat cannot afford to give up easy buckets, so they need to make them work for everything.

GO HEAT!
